I remember watching this show and then I went and saw Fargo. It took me about 20 minutes into the film to agree 100% with Gene and no, I didn’t see a better movie in 1996.

Bowling for Columbine and Fog of War should not be mentioned in the same sentence or same discussion. Fog of War is a well studied, fact driven piece heard straight from the individual who was there. The other documentary is a piece of skewed propaganda strictly for the purpose of entertainment.

Ebert seems to have been suckered in by the "This is a true story" opening. 😊

I saw this movie for the first time at a movie theater in Budapest in 1997 while I was traveling. Yes, I went to the movies while backpacking through Europe. The movie was in English with Hungarian subtitles. I still remember being amused when the audience laughed at a pun in the movie and I wondered how they translated it into Hungarian. It's still my favorite Coen Brothers movie to this day.
